Flexium Interconnect, Inc. was founded in June 1987, originally under the name Yuan Feng Electronics, and changed its name to Flexium Interconnect in 2000. It was later funded by the Yuen Foong Yu Group, which raised NT$125 million to set up a plant in the Guanyin Industrial Park in Taoyuan, and in October 1988 it officially began producing double-sided boards and multilayer boards. Through years of effort, it has obtained various international quality certifications, and as its product technology and quality have continued to improve, it is now a publicly listed company with capital exceeding NT$2 billion and a workforce of 1,500 employees.
In 2012, Flexium’s revenue reached NT$7.6 billion (approximately US$252 million), ranking 56th among the 2012 NTI-100 World Top PCB Makers and earning the “High Tech” distinction. In 2013 it passed the AS9100 certification for military and aerospace products, becoming the first circuit board maker in Taiwan to obtain this certification.
Flexium Interconnect upholds a commitment to investing in advanced process technologies and production equipment, continuously improving its quality management system, and providing a service framework that satisfies customers, while focusing on the process technologies for printed circuit boards required by advanced applications such as High Speed computing systems, High Frequency communication systems, and High Power consumption systems.
In 2013, Flexium Interconnect deployed MiDFUN’s SPC statistical process management system. Previously the company had used another peer SPC system, but after running into a bottleneck that could not be resolved, it deployed the MiDFUN system. The company’s own technical capabilities are very strong, so its progress in deploying the system was quite rapid: within two months its automation team had completed integrating and connecting the ERP system with the data from some of the automated machines. In 2014, through MiDFUN MDC, the company successfully enabled the ERP and the MiDFUN SPC system to automatically set up control items and machine connectivity, and went on to purchase the QIR system and the COM system from MiDFUN, entering a new era of automated report distribution and systematized 8D anomaly management.
