Sanho Industry: Adopting the MiDFUN QRP System

最後更新:2026.06.22

Sanho Industry Co., Ltd. was founded in 1969. Its products are high-quality sealing components for gasoline and diesel engines, and its main customers are major European and American manufacturers such as BENZ and BMW. Because its customers demand so much, the company committed early on to automation and quality improvement, making it a hidden champion of Taiwan.
Sanho Industry currently has around 180 employees. More than ten years ago the company introduced automated warehousing to manage tens of thousands of products and integrated it with the production line, making it one of Taiwan’s very early adopters of automation. In recent years it has invested even more actively in factory automation management, bringing in ERP, QRP, and BARCODE systems and developing its own MES. As early as 2013 it invested in the PLCs of its production machines, introduced electronic kanban and the MiDFUN QRP system, and comprehensively raised its competitiveness.

Sanho Industry introduced MiDFUN’s SPC and DOE systems in 2002. In 2013 the CEO called for the integration of information systems, and after half a year of effort and analysis the company decided to introduce the MiDFUN QRP system. Because the goal this time was relatively large—covering automation of data collection from ERP to MES to QRP and to on-site production and manufacturing machines—it involved many departments and a very high level of technical difficulty, so delivering results in a short time was far from easy. In practice, however, after just over eight months, on April 30, 2014, the company held a results presentation. Throughout this period, the full support of the company’s IT director and CEO and their determination to see it through were the biggest reasons the results presentation went smoothly.

From the moment a work order is issued, the company’s deployed system uses the BARCODE system to collect data. After that, the production quantity and quality inspection results are automatically uploaded from the production machines to the server, and every package of finished goods carries its own production history. Customers and the relevant sales staff can scan the BARCODE on each package at any time to learn detailed information such as when, by whom, and through which machine that package of finished goods was produced, along with the inspection data, keeping customer complaints to a minimum. Mold life and maintenance and servicing were also brought into the MiDFUN TMH system, which can connect to production information and automatically advise when scheduled maintenance should be carried out, or schedule maintenance in advance based on usage.

In short, after introducing the MiDFUN QRP system and a further ERP upgrade in 2017, the company advanced a major step ahead of its peers in overall quality and competitiveness. In the past, Taiwanese manufacturers placed importance only on hardware—only on purchasing advanced machines from Europe, the United States, and Japan—and paid little attention to factory information automation management. The company’s CEO is one of the few owners who plan ahead and upgrade and integrate big data across information systems in advance. We believe that after 2018 the company will further raise its competitiveness and, with its unique high-quality, high-mix low-volume edge, win even more high-value-added orders.
