Molex Taiwan: Deploying the MiDFUN SPC System

最後更新:2026.06.22

Molex was founded in 1938 in Illinois, USA. Today Molex maintains offices and factories across 40 countries worldwide and is a global leader in advanced electronic component supply, offering a wide range of connectors, cable components, interface solutions, and crimping tools that serve the telecommunications, computer networking, transportation, consumer products, and aerospace sectors. Each year, the solutions we provide become standards in these industries and drive their innovation.

Products such as those from flexible printed circuit board manufacturing plants mainly produce single-layer, double-layer, and multilayer rigid-flex circuit board assemblies (up to 10 circuit layers); impedance-controlled and high-speed flexible circuit board products and electronic connectors, and more, supplied for use in automotive, consumer products, data, industrial, medical, military, networking, and telecommunications technologies.

Partnering with MiDFUN to Deploy the SPC Quality Monitoring System

Back in 2015, in response to Industry 4.0 and customer requirements for product quality, Molex Taiwan began seeking an SPC quality monitoring vendor, hoping to take the first step toward industrial automation. In the past it had relied on Excel for its work, which meant that as the volume of inspection data kept growing, a great deal of time was needed to produce routine reports such as daily, weekly, and monthly reports. For this reason, the quality assurance and information units took strong leadership in deploying a TQM (Total Quality Management) quality system.

After a year of vendor selection, MiDFUN ultimately stood out. Following multiple rounds of communication and an in-depth understanding of MiDFUN’s products, Molex found that the “package” features of MiDFUN’s existing SPC system could already meet more than ninety-five percent of its functional requirements, and the inspection data from the plant’s image measurement instruments could be connected directly to MiDFUN SPC for real-time analysis. In the past, product anomalies could only be identified after the data was compiled that day or that week, but now, through automated instrument connectivity, the alert system can be triggered in real time, allowing on-site personnel to handle anomalies and take countermeasures immediately.

In addition, through MiDFUN’s QIR system, Molex Taiwan’s routine reports can be issued automatically by the system to the managers of the relevant units, such as product quality daily reports, departmental and machine-type daily reports, weekly reports, and monthly reports, greatly easing the burden on personnel and increasing managers’ confidence in quality and its timeliness.

As a result, deploying the system not only improved production quality management but also raised customers’ trust in Molex products, undoubtedly adding to a strong corporate image, and orders followed in a steady stream! After two years of operational benefits, in 2019 Molex officially deployed the MiDFUN system at its Tamsui plant and expanded its purchase to more than ten users, hoping that the positive interaction between the two sides will help both make further progress and become more competitive in the market!
