Hosonic Electronic: Deploying MiDFUN’s AOI Full-Inspection and SPC Project System

最後更新:2026.06.22

Hosonic Electronic Co., Ltd. was founded in 1979, specializing in the production and sale of frequency control devices. It has set up several production and sales bases in the East China and South China regions of mainland China, enjoys an excellent reputation within the industry, and has a sizable customer base. It is currently one of the world’s top ten quartz product manufacturers.

Hangzhou Hosonic Electronic Co., Ltd. was established in December 1993, with registered capital of US$22 million. The plant currently covers an area of 16,000 square meters and has more than 1,100 employees, including over 50 technical staff. Drawing on quartz crystals, quartz oscillators, and voltage-controlled oscillators introduced from the United States and Japan that reached the advanced level of the late 1990s, all of these have been made into chip-type components. The products are mainly used in fields such as communications, computers and peripherals, home appliances, automotive electronics, and industrial automation equipment.

Hosonic adopted the MiDFUN SPC system in 2019, with the planning focus on integrating it with the full-inspection AOI machines. At the outset, the two sides held differing views on the SPC sampling function and on the analysis of data output by the full-inspection machines. The production quantity differs from batch to batch, and inspection is performed on every unit. Was SPC even needed? Could SPC reveal abnormal patterns, identify failure modes among tens of thousands of data points, or, within large volumes of data (tens of thousands of data points per batch, dozens of batches produced each day, with inspection quantities varying), efficiently and at a reasonable cost find abnormal data patterns and perform integrated analysis with other non-full-inspection stations? Through the efforts of MiDFUN’s professional consultants and R&D team, together with the company’s quality assurance associate vice president and IT manager, and with the support of various departments, this system was gradually brought online through professional integration of the MiDFUN full-inspection project with the existing functions of MiDFUN SPC PLUS, and the data analysis performed by the system was used to identify the root causes of process problems.

In addition, the collected data is automatically gathered in large volumes from full-inspection records via the MDC API. During the new-product development or trial-production stage, the distribution of the earlier data is first examined to determine whether it conforms to a normal distribution before further processing is carried out. Later, the MiDFUN COM PRO process monitoring system and the CAR/8D nonconformity correction system will be integrated, enhancing the system’s overall integration capability.
