Chang Chun Petrochemical: Adopting the MiDFUN LIMS-SPC System

最後更新:2026.06.22

The Chang Chun Group has four major companies under its umbrella, with a combined workforce of nearly five thousand employees, making it a large enterprise group with annual revenue exceeding NT$100 billion. The four major companies are Chang Chun Plastics Co., Ltd., Chang Chun Petrochemical Co., Ltd., Dairen Chemical Corporation, and Taifeng Printed Circuit Board Co., Ltd. In addition, to expand into the mainland China market, the group has established Chang Chun Chemical (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. in Changshu City, Jiangsu Province, Chang Chun Chemical (Zhangzhou) Co., Ltd. in Zhangzhou, Fujian, and Dairen Chemical (Yizheng) Co., Ltd. in the Yizheng area of Shanghai.

Chang Chun adopted MiDFUN’s SPC system in 2011. Because an SPC system suited to the chemical industry had not yet emerged at the time, Chang Chun’s quality control was still based mainly on paperwork and Excel. After nearly a year of mutual adjustment between the two parties’ personnel and systems, MiDFUN’s R&D and service teams continuously improved the existing system to address the chemical-industry requirements raised by Chang Chun, and the use of MiDFUN’s SPC system at Chang Chun laid a solid foundation.

Subsequently, the two parties worked together on automated retrieval and generation of SPC daily reports, ERP & NOTES integration and linkage, and MES system connection with mutual data exchange. This further led to the 2017 deployment of the LIMS & SPC system across the various plant sites (the Taiwan plant sites and the Changshu plant site), covering matters such as profit-center headcount switching for the various units. This effectively integrated the automated reporting needs of different items across the relevant units.

The company is currently planning to take a further step in 2018-2019 toward integrating an OCAP / war-room mechanism, looking forward to advancing Industry 4.0 connectivity and integration even further, so that Taiwan’s petrochemical industry can make further progress in process automation and environmental protection, and use better quality control to improve efficiency, reduce waste and pollution, and enhance quality of life.
