Career Technology (Mfg.) Co., Ltd. was founded in 1992 and is headquartered in Shulin, Taipei. It is one of the world’s top ten and Taiwan’s largest professional manufacturer of flexible printed circuit boards, with nearly ten thousand employees worldwide and production bases and offices established in Kunshan, Suzhou, and Shenzhen in mainland China as well as North America. Guided by its management philosophy of “innovation, initiative, harmony, sincerity, efficiency, and responsibility,” it provides customers with flexible and fast service. Over the years it has earned recognition for its technical capabilities from major domestic companies such as HTC, AU Optronics, Quanta, ASUS, Compal, Inventec, Chimei, and BenQ, as well as international giants such as Apple, Samsung, Hyundai, LG, HP, NEC, Molex, Motorola, Nokia, and Sony Ericsson.
Career Technology had previously purchased an SPC system from a Taiwanese vendor. After using it for several years, the company found that its functionality could no longer keep up with its growth, and the vendor’s technical development hit a bottleneck and could not meet the company’s growth needs. After several years of pain and patience, the company began looking for other vendors in 2017. After nearly a year of evaluation, and after referring to the reputations of various domestic and international ERP, MES, and SPC software system vendors as well as industry peers, in mid-2018 the project team decided to choose MiDFUN as its new partner. Beyond MiDFUN’s many years of professional experience with PCB flexible boards, which could save a great deal of unnecessary time and waste, MiDFUN also led both sides of the strait in the overall functional architecture of its systems and the completeness of its QRP product, which won the IT department’s recognition of its technical capability for long-term cooperation. The local service capability of MiDFUN’s directly operated sites on both sides of the strait also gave great relief to the project personnel responsible for executing the SPC deployment across four plants. Indeed, the plants involved in this deployment were the four sites of the Taiwan headquarters plant and Suzhou, Kunshan, and Dongguan in mainland China.
After several months of ongoing guidance, the various plants went live smoothly one after another. In 2019, the company continued to deepen its work on attribute-data-related defect analysis and moved into AOI automated inspection, working closely with MiDFUN on topics such as Automated Factory 4.0 to enhance its global competitiveness.
