Yulon Motor: Deploying the MiDFUN SPC PLUS II Quality-Analysis Engine and e-Kanban

最後更新:2026.06.22

In 1953, under the harsh conditions of the time, Mr. Yen Ching-ling of Yulon Motor Co., Ltd. devoted tremendous effort to building the company. He also produced the first domestically made jeep. Today, Yulon Motor operates large-scale automobile plants on both sides of the strait, and its self-made passenger cars have evolved from the Feeling 101 of those early years to the premium Luxgen SUV lineup of today.

In recent years, Yulon has continuously strived for excellence, aiming to upgrade its domestically produced engines. With automated collection of process parameters and inspection data, big data had already accumulated a considerable volume. The next step was to advance the engine smart manufacturing SPC data warehouse analysis, so that this data could be transformed into a powerful weapon for improving process quality and reducing fuel consumption.
After several months of discussion, Yulon decided to deploy MiDFUN’s SPC PLUSII & MDC & QIR project system. Positioned as an analysis engine, this system can analyze the data within Yulon’s plant through the powerful capabilities of MiDFUN’s SPC PLUSII and instantly relay defect conditions to the relevant personnel, meeting the originally planned requirements.

Under the goal of optimizing and improving Yulon’s engines, the project team can use this system to provide a work quality dashboard (as shown above) to understand the current quality status of each engine. After each day’s production ends, it provides data analysis charts and improvement recommendations, enabling the core engine engineers to understand the strengths and weaknesses of each engine’s process control items (as shown in the lower-left figure). It automatically identifies, from tens of thousands of data points, which engines have larger deviations in which items (as shown in the lower-right figure). By comparing them against relatively superior engine data, it identifies the combination of process parameters under the same conditions as the day’s superior engines, providing engineers with a clear direction for improvement and long-term tracking data assessment of improvement results.

In 2020, the two parties will further integrate supply chain data and subsequent analysis, comprehensively strengthening the improvement and optimization of automobile quality and efficiency. This will allow Taiwanese automakers’ engine performance, quietness, and fuel consumption to make further progress in world-class quality, while striving to enhance customer satisfaction.
