C-TECH United Co., Ltd. was founded in 1996 and is a renowned Taiwanese OEM / ODM manufacturer of lithium-ion and lithium-polymer batteries for international brands such as HP, APPLE, and LG, as well as a mobile phone accessory design and manufacturing company. With plant sites in Taiwan and Chongqing, it is a professional manufacturer specializing in the design and assembly of battery modules and chargers.
C-TECH United adopted MiDFUN’s SQM system in 2017. Because C-TECH United is assembly-focused, the quality control of incoming materials from suppliers is of the utmost importance. The company had originally been using the incoming-material module within its ERP to control quality, but as sampling processes and plan levels for different types of parts and different suppliers’ parts grew increasingly complex over time and with customer demand, the existing system architecture could no longer meet customer and regulatory requirements. After searching among vendors on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, MiDFUN, the most professional in quality, ultimately won out. The dedicated sampling process for count-value data is shown in the figure on the left.
Because C-TECH United is a small-to-medium enterprise, it could not, like Powertech Technology, build its own system with an in-house IT team of dozens. Instead, it uses the WORKFLOW ERP system from Taiwan’s Digiwin. Therefore, integration with the existing ERP system was the key to whether the deployment would succeed. Since MiDFUN had already worked with Digiwin across many customers in the past, the system was deployed smoothly in 2017. The integration architecture flow is shown below.
After C-TECH United successfully went live with the deployment in 2017, in 2018 it sought to further integrate a HOLD/RELEASE LOT mechanism. MiDFUN’s side of this is already OK, and we look forward to 2018 bringing greater efficiency to the incoming-inspection system for the assembly industry and a further step forward in ERP integration.
