Gogoro Inc., founded in 2011, is a major Taiwanese electric-scooter manufacturer, widely known as GOGORO.
In the past, instrument management relied mainly on Google Forms, which presented numerous challenges. For example, instrument calibration required substantial manpower to verify each unit one by one, and oversights could easily lead to missed calibrations; MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis) was also difficult to keep track of in real time, because operating it through Excel was cumbersome.
To solve the problems above, Gogoro deployed the MiDFUN-Web MSA system in May 2023. This move aligned with the company’s strategy of moving its systems onto the Web, and it delivered significant results:
Automated notifications: The system can automatically issue advance and overdue notices for instrument calibration, effectively preventing missed calibrations.
Centralized data management: All instrument information is centralized in a database, making it easy to look up and manage, and greatly reducing labor costs.
Diverse analysis: The MSA functionality is more complete, able to quickly generate precise data to help managers make decisions.
Mobile management: Supervisors can log into the system anytime, anywhere via tablet or phone, no longer tied to a computer.
Convenient calibration workflow: Users simply scan the QR code on the instrument to quickly open the calibration workflow, simplifying operation.
After the MiDFUN-Web MSA system went live, it brought change to Gogoro’s instrument management. Through the system’s automated notification function, the problem of missed instrument calibrations caused by human oversight was effectively avoided, reducing the calibration error rate by 30%. At the same time, the system centralizes instrument information and provides diverse analysis functions, allowing managers to keep track of instrument status more precisely and thereby improve efficiency.
Most notably, the user experience improved substantially. The intuitive interface design makes it quick to get up to speed. And the function of scanning a QR code to perform calibration further simplified the workflow, greatly shortening calibration time and letting staff focus more on production tasks. Overall, the MiDFUN-Web MSA system not only saved 50% of labor costs but also improved the efficiency and accuracy of Gogoro’s instrument management, bringing significant benefits to the company’s operations.
